Where should a logo go on a hoodie?

October 22, 2026Pablo

The most popular spot for a logo on a hoodie is the left chest, about 3 to 4 inches wide. Center chest, above the front pocket, suits a bigger logo. The full back is best for a large design, a crew name, or a website, and the sleeve or hood works well for a small accent.

What is the best placement for a small logo on a hoodie?

Left chest is the classic choice for businesses, crews, and teams. It looks clean and professional and pairs well with a bigger print on the back.

  • Typical width: about 3 to 4 inches
  • Placement: centered over the left side of the chest, roughly where a shirt pocket would sit
  • Watch out for the drawstrings and the zipper on full-zip hoodies

Our guide on where a left-chest logo should be placed walks through measuring it.

Where does a center chest logo go on a hoodie?

On a pullover hoodie, the front pocket takes up the lower half of the front. That means a center-chest design has to sit higher than it would on a tee.

  • Keep the design above the pocket seam. Printing over the pocket edge creates a ridge and uneven pressure.
  • Typical width: about 8 to 11 inches for adult sizes
  • Start the top of the design a few inches below the neckline so it does not get hidden by the hood or drawstrings

Center chest does not work on a full-zip hoodie because the zipper splits the front. Use left chest, right chest, or the back instead.

Where should a logo go on the back of a hoodie?

The back is the biggest flat print area on a hoodie, and it is perfect for a crew name, a large logo, or a phone number and website.

  • Upper back (yoke): a strip a few inches below the hood seam, good for a name or one-line message.
  • Full back: a large design centered between the shoulder blades, typically 10 to 12 inches wide for adults.

Keep the top of the design low enough that the hood does not cover it when it is down. See how large a back print should be for sizing help.

Can you put a logo on the sleeve or hood?

Yes, and both make great accents:

  • Sleeve: a small logo, a flag, or a word running down the forearm or near the shoulder. Keep it about 3 inches wide or less.
  • Hood: a small logo on the side of the hood shows up well from behind and in profile. Hoods have seams and curves, so keep the design small and flat.

What is the best placement for work crews?

For crews and small businesses, a common setup is a left-chest logo on the front and a large logo or company name on the back. Customers see the brand from both directions, and the front still looks clean. Our left-chest plus back print gang sheet layout shows how to print both on one sheet.

What should I watch for when pressing DTF on a hoodie?

  • Use a pressing pillow so the print area sits above the seams and pocket.
  • Pre-press the hoodie to remove moisture. Fleece holds more than a tee.
  • Avoid the pocket seam, zipper, and drawstring holes.
  • Follow your transfer's time and temperature, and finish with a short press through parchment.

Frequently asked questions

What size should a left-chest logo be on a hoodie?

About 3 to 4 inches wide works for most adult hoodies.

Can I put a logo on the front pocket of a hoodie?

It is possible, but the pocket edges and seams make pressing uneven. Most people place the logo above the pocket instead.

Where do I put a logo on a zip-up hoodie?

Use the left or right chest, the back, or the sleeve. Avoid the center, where the zipper sits.

How far down should a back logo be on a hoodie?

Place it a few inches below the hood seam so the hood does not cover it when it is down.
