To make a gang sheet in Cricut Design Space, start a new project, upload your designs as transparent PNGs, size each one to its print size, and arrange them with a small gap between designs. Design Space's own DTF Gang Sheet option orders transfers through Cricut, so for another printer, export your sheet from a tool that saves full-resolution PNGs.
What is a gang sheet?
A gang sheet is one large sheet of DTF film with many designs printed on it at once. You cut the designs apart and press each one onto a shirt, hoodie, hat, or bag. Gang sheets save money because you fill the space with logos, names, and designs instead of ordering each transfer separately. Read how big DTF gang sheets are for sizing basics.
How do you lay out a gang sheet in Design Space?
- Start a new project on the Design Space canvas.
- Upload your artwork using the Upload button. Transparent PNG files work best.
- Size each design to the exact width you want it printed on the garment, for example a left-chest logo or a full-front design.
- Duplicate designs you need more than once.
- Arrange everything inside a rectangle that matches your sheet width, leaving a small, even gap between designs so you can cut them apart cleanly.
- Check for overlaps. Anything that overlaps will print overlapped.
Cricut's help center notes that Design Space also has a DTF Gang Sheet project type. That flow is built for ordering DTF transfers from Cricut, in Cricut's sheet sizes.
Can you export a gang sheet file from Design Space?
This is where most people get stuck. Design Space is made to send projects to a Cricut machine or to Cricut's own ordering flow. It is not designed to hand you a full-resolution, transparent PNG gang sheet that you can send to another DTF printer. Workarounds like printing to PDF can change the size or lower the quality, which shows up as blurry or wrong-size transfers.
If you want your gang sheet printed by another shop, the cleaner path is to keep your original PNG files and arrange them in a gang sheet builder or design software that exports at full resolution.
What file settings does a DTF gang sheet need?
- Transparent background: Anything that is not transparent will print, including white boxes. See why a white box shows up around a design.
- 300 DPI at print size: Size your artwork at the real print size so it stays sharp.
- PNG format: PNG keeps transparency. Our guide on DTF file format and resolution has the details.
What is the easiest way to order a gang sheet?
Skip the export problem and order from a shop that accepts your artwork directly. With LuxPort's 12-inch gang sheet builder, you choose a sheet length, upload your artwork file, and add any layout notes before you check out. A transparent PNG at 300 DPI is preferred, and PDF, SVG, AI, EPS, and JPG files are also accepted.
If you already planned everything in Design Space, that work still helps. Write down the size you chose for each design, then share those sizes in your layout notes along with your original files. Not sure your file is ready? Design support is available, so reach out before you order.
How much space should you leave between designs?
Leave enough room to cut each design apart without nicking the next one. A small, consistent gap works well. Our post on how much space to leave on a gang sheet walks through it, and making a gang sheet in Canva and in Photoshop cover other tools.
Frequently asked questions
Can Cricut Design Space make DTF gang sheets?
Design Space can lay out designs and has a DTF Gang Sheet option for ordering through Cricut. It is not built to export a print-ready gang sheet file for other printers.
Can I print a gang sheet from Design Space on a DTF printer?
Not directly. DTF printers use separate printing software. Keep your original PNGs and build the sheet in a gang sheet builder or design software that exports at full resolution.
What file type should I upload for a gang sheet?
A transparent PNG at 300 DPI at the size you want printed is the best choice for DTF.
Can I put different designs on one gang sheet?
Yes. You can mix logos, names, numbers, and different designs on one sheet. See our post on putting logos, names, and numbers on one gang sheet.
